It really is the best thing ever…
Everybody has that one store they go to knowing they can never walk out of there empty handed and on budget. Home Sense is it for me. I’m good at convincing myself that I need things that I don’t actually need. The good thing is that most of the time, I end up using most of those items I bought for photoshoots, styling contracts and even home staging. Why Home Sense is the best thing ever? Because it just is.
Back in October, a team of wonderful wedding vendors and I collaborated on a mountain styled elopement styled photoshoot and guess what? Home Sense delivered, as always! Here’s a list of goodies I found and used as props for the photoshoot.
This beautiful metallic tray was used as a prop to display Wolf And Wander‘s beautiful handmade stationary. I ended up selling it to a friend, but if I would have kept it, I would have used it as a serving platter for appetizers.
When I saw these gold deer skull pieces, I was shocked that no one had picked it up before me. They were EXACTLY what I had in mind when styling this photoshoot. Bold and gold – just how I like it! These are meant to be mounted to the wall, but I used them as a holder for the seating cards.
Gold Candle Holder
Other than the gorgeous Raquel, this candle holder added a touch of romance to this modern shoot. I immediately knew I wanted a shot like this when I saw this up for sale. It could be a beautiful centrepiece for a romantic dinner or a simple decor placed on top of a fireplace for example.
2016 was definitely a year for geometric art and ornaments. I think every modern bride wanted a geometric piece like this one as a wedding decor. I don’t blame them, it’s so original. I grabbed this lovely centrepiece thinking I’d use it as such, but I ended up asking Raquel to hold to show off her beautiful nail art. The details on her nails are breathtaking, I’m happy the centrepiece doesn’t over power them. By the way, I found this DIY project on how to make these at home, I haven’t tried it yet, but me my guest.
